Welcome to British School Muscat
Our vision is to become one of the world's leading British international schools. British School Muscat was established in 1971 when it was granted a Royal Charter by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said. Since then, we have become a leading British international school in the Middle East. We are the only non-profit, co-educational, British school in Muscat providing a comprehensive and well-balanced education to children of wide ranging abilities and nationalities aged 3 - 18. The school follows an enhanced version of the English National Curriculum and our pupils achieve excellent SAT, GCSE and A Level results.
Our mission is to provide our pupils with high quality British education for an international future. In February 2014 we had a successful British Schools Overseas inspection (BSO is overseen by the Department for Education and OFSTED in England). The inspection team's overall judgement was that BSM is a good school with exemplary features. For a full copy of the report click here. Following the inspection, we are now working to secure consistently outstanding teaching through innovative approaches to classroom practice.
We aim to offer a personalised approach to learning founded on first-rate teaching, a diverse enrichment programme and excellent pastoral care. Through our BSM learning ethos we support, nurture and inspire all our pupils to become:
1. Secure individuals
2. Resourceful learners
3. Respectful contributors
Since 2011, we have grown from 890 pupils on roll to over 1100. To support the steady growth of our thriving school and to enable further expansion of the curriculum and enrichment programme, we are currently undertaking an ambitions campus development programme to provide our school with inspiring educational facilities .
