Late to school
Pupils are expected to be in class at 7:30am.
Senior School: Registration is taken at 7:30am for senior pupils, at the start of their first lesson.
Primary School: Registration ends at 7:40am for Years 1 - 6 and 8:00am for Nursery and Reception pupils. If your child is late to school, they must sign in at Reception at the top of school. They will receive a Late Slip which must be taken with them to class and handed to the teacher. This will inform the teacher that your child has been registered as present at school. The reason for the Late Slip is to avoid classes being interrupted by having to update the registers for late pupils.
If you have informed the school at least one working day before the date of absence, your child's attendance record will be updated with the relevant absence code in advance of registration and you will not receive an email regarding this absence.
Your child will be marked "absent" at registration and you will receive an email confirming this absence
By the end of the day, if no reason is given for your child's absence then your child's absence record will be updated with "Absent – No reason given". This will be considered as an Unauthorised Absence.
You can check your child's absence details on the Parent Portal at any time.
Please DO NOT
1) write the reason for absence in your child's personal organiser
2) text the nurse (unless you have no access to email the school)
3) email any other email address at school about absence
