Why BSM?

Our Vision: To be one of the world’s leading British international schools.

Our Mission: To provide our pupils with high quality British education for an international future.

First rate teaching and learning

“GCSE results are well above the average for similar schools in the region and across the world.”

BSO Inspection, March, 2017

Our GCSE results place BSM in the top 3 British International Schools in the Middle East and in the top 5% of independent and state schools in the UK. BSM’s growing international reputation for excellence and innovation helps us to attract, retain and develop high quality UK trained teachers who are proud to work with our engaged, motivated and high achieving pupils.

To prepare our pupils for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead we value learning that focuses on high performance in public examinations, healthy living and well-being, character development and global citizenship.  We call this approach the BSM Learning Ethos and it underpins learning and teaching throughout our school.

The aim of our BSM Learning Ethos is to nurture and support our pupils who will grow into:

  • secure individuals;
  • resourceful learners;
  • respectful contributors.

Diverse enrichment programme

“The curriculum is enriched and enhanced significantly through an extensive [enrichment] programme.”

BSO Inspection, March, 2017

With more than 300 activities to choose from, our Enrichment programme provides our pupils with opportunities to pursue and explore their individual talents and interests through a wide range of competitive and recreational sports, performing and creative arts activities and academic extension and support programmes.

Excellent pastoral care

“Students’ behaviour is exemplary: they have excellent manners, and there are very positive relationships between adults and students.”

BSO Inspection, March, 2017

Our first priority is to ensure that your child is a safe, happy and confident learner. All our staff are trained to offer care and support to our pupils on a daily basis. Our dedicated team of assistants, teachers, counsellors and nurses, led by our Well Being Manager, can also offer specialised support and guidance to pupils when required.

Inspiring facilities

“The premises and accommodation are excellent.”

BSO Inspection, March, 2017

Following an extensive consultation with our pupils, parents and staff in 2014, our architects created an ambitious and exciting master plan for developing inspiring facilities for our school.  Construction of Phase 1 of the plan began in April 2015. In March 2016 we opened our new science block with 10 laboratories and the full-sized all-weather pitch with under-croft parking. The consolidating of all staff parking underneath the all weather pitch has led to a car-free campus for our pupils.

December 2016 saw the completion of our new learner pool and the refurbishment of our 4-lane swimming pool. Summer 2017 will see the completion of Phase 1 of the master plan creating 2 new sports halls an 8-lane competition pool built to FINA standards, a new Sixth Form Centre and 12 new classrooms. Construction on Phase 2, which includes a 400-seater auditorium, a dining hall, a new library and a performing arts centre will start in summer 2018.
