National Curriculum Tests (SATs) are administered at the end of Key Stage 3 (Year 9). The majority of children are expected to attain Level 5/6, and above average attainment is Level, 7 and 8 (maths only). Level 5 and above is the published benchmark and is used for producing league tables and for making comparisons between schools.
The tests are marked externally and in 2008 they were marked by Edexcel. The British School’s test results for 2008 are shown below, expressed as a percentage. Each child represents approximately 2%.
