At the end of Year 11 when the majority of learners are aged 16, they sit General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) examinations.  They are graded A – G and with a U representing ‘ungraded’.  Grade A* represents an outstanding level of attainment.  Grades C and above are considered a ‘pass’ in relation to the previous system of O Levels (Ordinary Level).

Exemplary Standards at GCSE – Straight As
Out of our cohort of 65 students who sat GCSE examinations, 13 (20%) achieved straight A grades or above. This is an exemplary standard of performance and I congratulate them upon reaching such a high standard. They are:
