Welcome to the Primary School

Whether you are prospective parents, existing parents and children, relatives, keeping in touch with what is happening at School or professional colleagues showing an interest - Welcome!

The pages that follow provide a window into the Primary School, throughwhich you can learnabout every aspect of school life.

The British School- Muscat has a strong identity and ethos, built around a clear Vision and our Learning Lighthouses. We recognise that individuals have preferred learning styles so our approach to teaching and learning reflects this. There is a calm, purposeful atmosphere and the children are actively involved in their own learning. Many of our families are in Oman for a set period of time and so there is a strong emphasis that 'every day counts'.

We teach the English National Curriculum within the international context in which we are living. Learning does not only happen inside the classroom- we actively promote first hand experiences and provide a broad and balanced curriculum though trips, visits and a comprehensive after school activities programme.

We work in partnership with parents and other members of the community and regard, children, parents and teachers as all having a valuable role in the learning process.

I am extremely proud of the staff, as reflective practitioners, they show great commitment to providing the highest quality education for the children. A huge strength of the School is that we go from 3- 18 so across the staff we have a wealth of ideas and experience. As children move through the School, across key stages their transition is closely monitored and their individual needs are met so as to ensure continuity and progression.

If you are able to visit the School, come along and see for yourself, I would be delighted to show you around.
