from the Principal
Welcome to British School Muscat. I am proud to lead our dynamic, thriving and successful school where visitors consistently comment on the relaxed and purposeful atmosphere around the site, our polite and motivated pupils and our friendly, family atmosphere.
When you are a long way from home I think that it is even more important that your child and your family immediately feel safe, secure and amongst friends with a supportive international community. This is the starting point for successful learning. We invest time in creating a personal relationship with all our families to ensure the learning for your child is as personalised as possible.
Our Royal Charter has enabled us to deliver a world class British education for nearly 50 years. Our outstanding and innovative provision is based on the English National Curriculum; GCSEs and A Levels, enabling our students to study at leading universities across the world.
Our exam results typically place us in the top 5 British international schools in the GCC and top 3% of UK state schools and top 9% of UK independent schools. Furthermore, in our recent British Schools Overseas Inspection (January 2020, overseen by the Department of Education and Ofsted in England), our school is described as “an outstanding school with numerous exemplary features”.
Why wouldn’t you come and see our unique school?
We would be delighted to meet you.
FIRST-RATE TEACHING AND LEARNING
Curriculum innovations in the primary and senior schools are driving a real push for the highest possible standards.”
Standards of attainment are very high in both the Primary and Senior school. BSM’s growing international reputation for excellence and innovation helps us to attract, retain and develop high quality UK trained teachers who are proud to work with our engaged, motivated and high achieving pupils.
To prepare our pupils for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead we value learning that focuses on high performance in public examinations, healthy living and well-being, character development and global citizenship. We call this approach the BSM Learning Ethos and it underpins learning and teaching throughout our school.
DIVERSE ENRICHMENT PROGRAMME
The curriculum is enriched and enhanced significantly through an extensive [enrichment] programme.
Our Enrichment programme provides our pupils with opportunities to pursue and explore their individual talents and interests through a wide range of competitive and recreational sports, performing and creative arts activities and academic extension and support programmes.
Excellent pastoral care
Students’ behaviour is outstanding: they have excellent manners, there are very positive relationships between adults and students, and between the students themselves.
Our first priority is to ensure that your child is a safe, happy and confident learner. All our staff are trained to offer care and support to our pupils on a daily basis. Our dedicated team of assistants, teachers, counsellors and nurses, led by our Well Being Manager, can also offer specialised support and guidance to pupils when required.
The premises and accommodation are outstanding... and they continue to improve.
Over the past 10 years we have carried out a successful campus redevelopment to upgrade our facilities to some of the best in the Middle East.
