BSM MARLINS

BSM Marlins is an elite swimming squad open to all members of the Muscat community looking to compete at a high level.

The team offers year-round training sessions and there are currently four performance squads within the programme, as well as a development squad (from age 8 upwards) and a fitness squad.

These squads regularly compete at both local and National competitions and the BSM Marlins have now established themselves as one of the leading clubs in the Middle East Region.

Train with us

Due to the current situation with Covid19, registration for swimming trials is currently closed. We hope that we will be able to accommodate trials in the near future. Please keep checking the website in the meantime for any updates.

We are always looking for new members. BSM Marlins is open to all members of the Muscat community looking to compete at a high level. Trials take place each Term. If you are already a competitive swimmer, we should be able to get you a trial right away with an applicable squad.

Each swimmer is assessed on their ability; taking into consideration the current squad criteria, the swimmer’s age and swimming potential. The Head Coach will offer successful trialists a place in one of the squads. Due to the limited number of spaces available within the Marlins squads, it cannot be guaranteed that each interested swimmer will gain a place. However, the Head Coach will inform any unsuccessful applicants what they need to improve on, so that they may be reassessed in the future.

If you are currently swimming at a competitive club level, please get in touch.

BSM MARLINS Masters

BSM Marlins Masters is a performance training programme for adults who either wish to increase their fitness, improve their speed or train for events.

We have two Masters squads - Masters A and Masters B, both of which have an entry criteria. New members will be asked to join a session for a trial in order to assess ability.

Due to Covid-19, BSM Masters is not currently taking place.

BSM Swim

The BSM Swim programme is open to the whole community. We offer sessions for children and adults, for complete beginners through to those wanting to improve their technique or fitness.

The programme is run by Chester Wood, an ASA Level 2 swimming teacher and BSM member of staff.

The BSM Swim programme runs during term times, in line with the dates of our Extra-Curricular Activities Programme. Payment is required up-front and you book and pay for the Term. Refunds or credits will only be given if the lesson is cancelled by the school, or if lessons are affected by a public holiday.

BSM Swim for Children

Our BSM Swim programme for children is designed to enhance curriculum swimming lessons. We follow the ‘Swim England’ framework, the national governing body for swimming in the U.K.

Groups are split by ability rather than age and range from the Ducklings (pre-school and early years) through stages 1-7. The ratio of tuition is set at a maximum of 1:8. Lessons are 30 minutes long and run through the afternoon.

BSM Swim for Adults

We have two groups for our BSM Swim Adult programme – beginners and improvers. Lessons are 45 minutes long and the ratio of tuition is set at a maximum of 1:8.

Due to COVID, BSM Swim for Adults is not currently running.

Adult Lane Swimming

These sessions are for adults who would like to either practice their technique, increase their regular swimming or improve their fitness.

There will be a member of staff poolside and will create a set for you to work through each week. Sessions are 45 minutes long and the ratio is set at a maximum of 1:12.

Due to COVID, BSM Swim for Adults is not currently running.

We’re waiting for you
